Cyprus Tourist Guide

Tourist Guide :

What to pack for a trip to Cyprus for most times of the year is pretty easy. Since the weather is almost perfect year round it only varies slightly. The basics for any season would be sunscreen and walking shoes. The rest of your clothes will depend on what time of the year you visit this beautiful island.

If you visit from April to May, the temperatures are very nice during the day and may fall a bit at night. They won’t be extremely cold, just a slight chill in the air. Because of this you should pack summer clothes for during the day and a light jacket or long sleeved shirt for the night time.

Visiting June through August is probably the absolute best time to go to Cyprus. These months are the summer months here and the temperatures great during the day as well as at night. So summer clothes for both times should be packed. And packing a bathing suit when visiting during these months is ideal.

Coming in September and October is similar to visiting during April and May, except that while the evenings are cool, people can still swim because it is warm enough. Clothing is identical to April and May months with the exception of a bathing suit for getting out on the beach.

November brings warm days but chillier nights since winter is just around the corner. Late summer clothes are better even though the days are still fairly warm. Depending on the time of day and weather, swimming and especially sunbathing can be enjoyed during this month, so pack that suit if you like that kind of activity no matter what.

Winter months are December and January for Cyprus. Winter clothing is recommended but not heavy coats like many visitors think of when they hear winter. There should be more raincoats and galoshes than gloves and scarves to get around the island. The sun still comes out but isn’t as warm as earlier months so wearing long sleeved shirts or light jackets during the day is recommended.

Spring begins in February and March on Cyprus. It is best to still have light winter gear when visiting, but less so than what was worn in December and January. The days can be warm and rainy so raincoats are encouraged. Since February is the end of winter, skiing can be enjoyed on the Troodos mountains, and proper gear should be brought if that is your desire. In March the weather is warmer so outdoor walks can be had with only a light jacket to keep warm.
